How To Develop Addiction?

Addiction can develop in Vault Dwellers if they repeatedly consume too much of the same chems. While addiction itself is pretty harmful as players can actually overdose from repeated consumption of the substance they consume, the dependency built on the substance is just as dangerous; the problem enters when you run out of the substance and withdrawal effects set in.

How To Avoid Becoming Addicted?

To avoid becoming addicted, players must limit their consumption of a particular substance (chems/alcohol) over a short period of time. Perks such as Chem Resistant and Professional Drinker can be used to make players immune to addiction.

Step 1, admit you have a problem. Step 2, check your status on your Pip-Boy to confirm your addition. Curing addiction is not as difficult as it may be in reality, as there are several consumables that can do the trick, and they are quite easy to craft.

There are two universal cures for any form of addiction in Fallout 76: Addictol and a Radscorpion egg omelette. These will instantly cure any addiction you may be carrying, and they aren't too difficult to obtain. Addictol can be found all around the map and is even a reward for completing the Guided Meditation event. A recipe is needed to cook up the omelette, which is given to you the first time you acquire Radscorpion Eggs.

It is also unconfirmed whether addiction is permanent or fades over time however using perks that grant players immunity so it will also clear currently-held addictions.
