Tracking Unknowns is a Side Quest in Fallout 76. Side Quests can provide various rewards from XP to caps. They are displayed under the section "SIDE" of the Pip-Boy.

Tracking Unknowns Walkthrough

To obtain this quest, make your way to Harpers Ferry in The Mire region located further west from Vault 76. Once you've arrived, a miscellaneous quest named "Investigate Harpers Ferry" will unlock - access any of the terminals, choose [Missing Persons] followed by [Missing Hunting Party] and it will change to "Tracking Unknowns".

Once you've unlocked the quest, look for a Mister Gusty named "Hardball" to learn more about the missing party. Eventually, he will instruct you to obtain a signal booster in Harpers Ferry or Valley Galleria - if you're up for the challenge, you could choose to follow your quest marker and push through Harpers Ferry's difficult structure or head to Valley Galleria and simply walk inside the building and acquire the signal booster. Whichever you prefer, it is recommended to go through Valley Galleria.

When you've acquired the signal booster, make your way to Camp Venture located south of Valley Galleria - head up to the helipad at the top of the camp and use the control terminal to summon a Cargobot. After it lands, attach the signal booster and activate it for the Cargobot to fly off, immediately open your Pip-Boy and listen to the Distress Beacon radio station.

Next, you need to track the distress beacon by following the strength indicator in the screen's top-left corner. You'll soon notice that the beacon is still in The Mire region, almost at the center of Southern Belle Motel, Haven Church, and the Abandoned Waste Dump.

Now, you'll find yourself at an electrical tower and Randy's corpse within the area. Obtain the distress beacon, take his holotape, and listen to it - while listening, head northwest to a rusted car to locate Nari Samir's corpse resting on the left side of the car. Grab her holotape, a Dyer Chemical ID, a Prototype Hamzat Suit, and head north from the electrical tower towards Dyer Chemical.

After arriving, follow the yellow marker and use the ID to gain access to the sewers. Continue down steps, and turn left to find a toolbox you can loot - move forward to the path and make your way down the sewers itself. Go through the short alley and eliminate the Feral Ghoul Stalkers in the area; after eliminating them, turn right from the short alley and make your way up the steps. After going through the 2nd set of stairs, continue through the path and make a left and you'll find a door after going down a short set of stairs.

Head inside and you will find the bodies of Sara Samir and Lucy Harwick - take all of the items from their bodies and listen to Lucy's holotape to complete the quest.
