Lucky Strike Walkthrough

To initiate the quest, approach a "U-Mine-It" machine and purchase a Miner's map - you can find one in Kanawha Nuka-Cola Plant located within The Forest region. Once you've purchased the item, access your Pip-Boy and equip the map to acquire the location of the dig site.

The game will provide you with a random location, so simply follow the quest marker and head to whichever location it will point out to. After you've arrived, approach the site and excavate it to complete the quest.

On your map, a small area will be highlighted for the quest. Once you have traveled there, a small lump will be present on the ground, look at it and interact with it. No special equipment is needed (such as shovel or pick axe).

Note that the lump can be difficult to spot, as it will move grass, trees etc up with it, and you have to be looking almost straight down to interact with it. Crouching helps as the hit box for the lump is closer to eye level.

Once the lump is interacted with, the quest will complete, awarding a number of metal ores (including black titanium ore) which can be smelted at a chemist workshop for their corresponding scraps for use in crafting.

Notes & Notable Loot

  • Black titanium ore
  • Random metal ores
  • Be sure to stock up with recovery items, and weapons for any enemy encounters along the way.

I've tried numerous times to find this elusive spot. I'm playing on a PC. I can see the marker go down to zero and I think I see the rock that looks similar to an ore deposit, but I can't interact with it.... What am I doing wrong?
