Different Kinds of Buffs
Bobbleheads
Bobbleheads can confer various temporary bonuses. Once activated, they remain in your inventory, ticking down their timer until they are spent and discarded. While the locations are fixed, the type of Bobblehead that spawns at that location can vary. Picking up your first Bobblehead will activate a Challenge, giving you some Atoms to spend in the Atomic Shop. You can extend the length of these temporary buffs by simply picking up a second copy of the same.
It's easier to locate Bobbleheads using the Percepti-bobble Perk.
Magazines

While the locations are fixed, the issue that spawns at that location can vary. Picking up your first Magazine issue will activate a Challenge, giving you some Atoms to spend in the Atomic Shop. Basic Needs
The easiest way to earn small buffs in Fallout 76. Daily needs such as getting enough food, water, rest, are necessary to maintain and improve certain attributes, while neglecting them will result in penalties.
Instruments
Instruments can be found across the map. They can be played to provide a sick jingle, however doing so for extended periods of time can grant you some nifty buffs.
Mutations
Mutations in Fallout 76 are caused by exposure to Radiation. When exposed, Vault Dwellers have a chance of developing a mutation that can empower and/or hinder them in different circumstances.
