Heart of the Enemy is a Daily Quest in Fallout 76. Daily Quests can provide various rewards from XP to caps.

These quests are displayed under the section "DAILY" of the Pip-Boy. They can be repeated every 24 hours.

Before you obtain this daily quest, you must first complete the main quest Recruitment Blues. Afterward, you will need to gain access on the fourth floor of Fort Defiance and acquire the note "Mission 099-01 Orders" located inside the desk under Senior Knight Wilson's Terminal - this will automatically unlock Heart of the Enemy.

Once you've acquired the note, head to Vault-Tec University and access the Automated Research Terminal. However, you will need to generate power to activate it. For it to work, proceed north and drop down the floor after reaching the room with the large power generators. Hack into the Power Terminal, choose [Allocate Power to Automated Research Lab], and head back to the Automated Research Terminal - you will now have access to choose [Execute Automated Test].

After that's dealt with, the next objective is to collect the DNA of a Scorchbeast which can be found within the region of Cranberry Bog - if you're lucky you can just loot the DNA from a dead Scorchbeast or end up facing one and killing it.

Once you've collected the DNA, simply head back to Vault-Tec University and place it into the Automated Centrifuge and access the terminal once more. - choose [Execute Automated Test] to complete the quest.
