Early Warnings is a Main Quest in Fallout 76. The aim of this Main Quest is to repair the Uplink, then finding a bunch of components for Rose. Quests are objectives that the player may complete to obtain special rewards for their participation in the wasteland activities.

Clay's Secrets

Make your way to the north side of the Mire, to Abbie's Bunker. Once you've arrived, enter the back room and access the Tinker's Workbench, marked on your map. On it, create the Uplink to repair it then head into the entry room to use the Scorched Detection System Terminal to select the "Communications Uplink Repaired" entry. Now listen to the intercom for Abbie's instructions.

Leave the bunker and head to Raleigh Clay's Bunker by continuing along the road southwards. Use the terminal to unlock the front door, and once you do, enter and receive your next instructions from Abbie.

You'll be tasked with finding Fan Motors, so enter the bunker through the southeastern side to receive an optional objective to find Raleigh's Schematics; you can find them on the north side of the room, on top of the cabinet. This will be the Plan Shrouded Wood Armor Mod.

 

Handy Man

You're next objective is to find a few Heating Coils, scattered around different locations in the Mire and Savage Divide. Here are all the Heating Coil locations:

  • 1st Heating Coil - find it by heading into the room at the hall's end of the building you're currently in and find it inside the toolbox, at the end of the objective marker.
  • 2nd Heating Coil - head to Ella Ames' Bunker, which you can reach by leaving the previous and heading north, then off road towards west slightly. Inside the main room, find the door on the south side then take the next door to track down the second coil.
  • 3rd Heating Coil - head to Relay Tower LW-B1-22, which is west around the mountains from the previous location. Enter the tower and loot the toolbox on the southeast side of the room, to find the third coil.
  • 4th & 5th Heating Coil - head back to Abbie's Bunker, into the room with the Tinker's Workbench. Check the cupboards in the room and you'll find two more coils.

Once you've located all of these, use the Tinker's Workbench to craft five Upgraded Motors, under the "Quest Items" tab. Return to the SDS Terminal in the entry room here and select "Motors Upgraded". This brings an end to this quest.

 

Notes & Notable Loot

  • When looking for the second Heating Coil, you'll be prompted with the task to investigate Ella's Bunker. This requires you to browse through her Computer Terminal, and select "Research Studies" to read the "Radshield" entry. This will complete the objective and commence An Organic Solution.
